Former Finance Director for the Indiana House Republicans Joins Marion County Republican Central Committee Staff

INDIANAPOLIS – Marion County Republican Party Chairman Tom John today announced the hiring of Julia Surber as Finance Director for the Marion County Republican Central Committee.

"Julia brings to our party a wealth of experience in campaigns and fundraising” John said. “She will no doubt help us build upon our efforts to develop resources, elect candidates, and communicate our message.”

Surber recently served as a fundraising consultant for several Indiana political campaigns. She has served as Finance Director for the Indiana House Republican Campaign Committee, Media Relations/Member Services Director for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, and Political Affairs Manager for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. She has helped manage the campaigns of State Senator Ron Alting, U.S. Senate candidate Peter Rusthoven, Lafayette Mayor David Heath, and Lafayette City Clerk Lisa Decker.

“I look forward to helping the Republican Party build upon its recent success in Marion County,” Surber said.

Surber is a 1999 graduate of Purdue University, where she double-majored in Advertising and Political Science.  While at Purdue, Surber interned with State Senators David Long and Becky Skillman. Surber is also a Precinct Committeewoman in Warren Township.
