Barbara has practiced law in the central Indiana area for approximately 28 years. She is currently employed at the law firm of Ammeen & Associates, P.C. She is serving her first term as a City-County Councillor, at-large. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, she attended IPS and graduated from Shortridge where she achieved both academically and musically. She graduated from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati with a degree in piano and music education. She obtained her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law, now known as the Maurer School of Law.

During Barbara’s current term on Council she has served as chair of the Municipals Corporations Committee and is a member of Administration & Finance and Economic Development committees. She was the sole sponsor for proposal to modernize the parking meters and has supported the Citizens Gas/Water Company and North of South redevelopment proposals.
