As an Indianapolis Police Officer, he began his career working in the streets of Butler-Tarkington, on the northside of Indianapolis. He quickly made a positive impact using community-policing to solve many problems as a patrol officer. A member of the Board of Directors for the Peace Learning Center, he has continued his commitment to give back to youth who are plagued by violence in the inner city. He served as Chairman of the Board in 2006. PLC is a not-for-profit/non-political organization that teaches conflict resolution to IPS and Warren Township 4th and 5th graders. His expertise as a police officer assists both organizations throughout Marion County and the State of Indiana. Ben and his wife, Keri, a lifelong Warren Township resident, live in Grassy Creek with their daughter and two dogs. They attend East 91st Street Christian Church on the northside of Indianapolis. |
